1. Riverview at Occoquan
Riverview is the premier Northern Virginia venue for good reason. Owned by the park service, it has a little something for everyone, including waterfront space, a stone patio with river views, a grassy courtyard, a historic structure onsite, and an airy, modern atrium that seats up to 300. 2. Woodlands at Algonkian
Woodlands at Algonkian is owned by the park service, and offers a spacious, contemporary space with a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows on one side. A stone wall feature and fireplace give it extra character. In addition to it’s indoor space, there is an outdoor ceremony spot overlooking the woods, and a trail down to the waterfront, where couples can pose for portraits. The grand ballroom can seat up 200, making this one of the most versatile – and affordable – non-rustic venues on our list.

3. Tower Club
The Tower Club occupies the top floors of a Tysons high-rise and offers stunning views of the surrounding city. It has a cosmopolitan vibe and excellent in-house catering. An indoor ceremony spot features floor to ceiling windows, and guests can even step outside onto a large balcony to enjoy some fresh air along with the views. With a capacity of 150, it isn’t the largest venue on our list, but it’s convenient Tysons location make a strong contender for the couple in search of a modern wedding venue in Northern Virginia.

4. Harbour View
Located on the Occoquan River, Harbour View offers two large spaces with plenty of natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows, and river views. The smaller of the spaces seats up to 80, and the Reception Ballroom seats up to 250. Couples will also have use of an outdoor balcony overlooking the river.

5. 2941 Restaurant
2941 is notable for the stunning views of its sculptural waterfall fountain just outside the floor-to-ceiling windows in all of its 4 event spaces. The private rooms in this venue seat up to 100, and its main restaurant seats up to 200. This is a great choice for a cozy winter wedding, as the ice on the partially frozen waterfall fountain makes a show-stopping natural backdrop.

6. Westfields Golf Club
We’ve written about Westfields before, because it’s also one of the most affordable venues in Northern Virginia, as well as being all-inclusive. With a capacity of 200 in its main ballroom, an outdoor patio, a large, covered, outdoor pavilion, golf course views, and lots of conveniences, Westfields is a great choice for a modern wedding venue in Northern Virginia.

7. Bull Run Golf Club
Bull Run offers a plethora of indoor and outdoor spaces for the couple interested in a country club wedding. In addition to numerous scenic spots for portraits, it has an outdoor ceremony space with water views, and lovely water and golf course views from the indoor reception area. It boasts an indoor seating capacity of 175, and an outdoor seating capacity of 350 on its tented patio.
