Lavender Haze at River Farm
Alex and Calvin were married at Alexandria’s River Farm on September 3, 2023. Inspired by her love for Taylor Swift’s music, Alex slipped in “Lavender Haze” references throughout her wedding day. From beautifully curated colors and florals to a Lavender Haze signature drink, the entire day was executed with artful touches all around.
Once owned by George Washington, River Farm is run by The American Horticultural Society, which has its headquarters on the property. This 25-acre site contains formal and naturalistic gardens, including woodlands, a meadow, and children’s gardens. It offers a variety of landscapes, from breathtaking river views to vine-covered alcoves.
Most weddings at River Farm are held on the tented patio, which seats up to 160 seated guests. An additional tent can be added to hold more than double that number. The building itself can hold up tables and chairs for up to 50 in the ballroom.
Petal N’ Bloom created bouquets to fit the Lavender Haze theme of the day.
This ceremony spot at River Farm sits at the entrance to a variety of garden beds and unusual garden features, such as a statue of Pan, giving it a Secret Garden vibe.

For Alex and Calvin’s reception, the patio tent was fully draped and hung with chandeliers.
Menu cards and a photo booth sign were printed in shades of lavender.
Lavender uplighting added subtle touches to the edges of the tent.
Fun fact: The gates on the left were installed in the White House in 1819 as part of renovations to repair damage from the war of 1812. They were later removed as part of another renovation, but found a second home at River Farm.
