Welcome to Nova Wedding Style’s inaugural styled shoot! We are forever grateful to Winery at Lagrange for agreeing to host us last-minute when our original venue canceled, and to our talented vendor team, who worked long hours and provided their wares free of charge, to our beautiful models, who tromped all over Lagrange in painfully high disco heels and still managed to dance in the Barrel Room, and to Occasions by Sandy, who partnered with us for this production of the event.

For our first shoot, we decided we wanted lots of color and glitz, departing from the rustic vibe that infuses most of Nova’s wedding scene. We do love rustic, but really wanted to do something different and unique. So we gathered our disco balls, hot pink dresses, 70’s accessories, and lots of cocktails, to produce this exuberant and sparkly wedding shoot.

Paper Heart provided these 70’s-inspired invitations in our pink, red, and aqua color scheme.

Our bride model is Mariandree of Mdree Photography, whose work has appeared here in Nova Wedding Style.

Our show-stopping ceremony heart and candle arrangement came from Nova Party Creations. It is a popular rental for elopements and proposals, and can transform any space for instant romance.

On to cocktail hour! Our models’ first stop was this cute white champagne cart from Precision Planning.

We love mobile things here at Nova Wedding Style – carts, bicycles, bars, classic cars, pretty much anything that moves. One of our favorite mobile bar services is On the Fly Tapsters, who own a vintage bus-turned-bar (Kombi Keg RVA) as well as the retro license plate bar we used for this shoot.

Jennifer of On the Fly Tapsters mentioned that her daughter had pink hair, and voila, we had the perfect bridesmaid for this shoot.

Custom cocktail accessories are a thing! We got our disco ball stirrers from The Sip Social Co.

It isn’t a cocktail hour without charcuterie! Honey D. Charcuterie provided custom cones decorated with disco balls, and trays of artfully organized crackers, cheeses, fruits, and meats.

For the reception, our table was set with vintage china and velvet linens from Nova Wedding Style’s own collection, florals from Honeydew Blooms, gold flatware from Nova Party Creations, and vintage glassware from Fox and Fern Vintage Rentals.

Dessert – everyone’s favorite part! No exception here, because this set-up from Elegant Lollies got all the ooh’s and ah’s. Elegant Lollies provided and styled all of this sweets display, as well as the sweets themselves and the aqua blue disco wedding cake.

This audio guestbook from Funtastic Photo Booth Rentals was one of our favorite things to pose with. Blissful Design and Decor provided a custom sign to go with the phone, the artificial floral arrangement was repurposed from our Elegant Lollies sweets display, and giant disco balls and an aqua blue table from Rustic Garden Rentals completed the scene.

We searched far and wide for a vintage sofa for our models to pose on, and were lucky to discover new vendor Fox and Fern Vintage Rentals, who also provided vintage glassware for our tablescape, as well as vintage candlesticks and trays. The gold arch and neon sign were provided by Nova Party Creations, and the suitcases by Fox and Fern and also Rustic Garden Rentals.

We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to insert a bit of vintage into the shoot, and we love a good vendor profile, so we convinced Mia of Fox and Fern to let us dress her up and take some shots.

Everyone loves a photo booth at a wedding, and our models had a blast playing with the props and striking poses at the station set up by Love Wedding and Events.

Like most weddings, ours ended with a night of dancing. The Barrel Room at the Winery at Lagrange was the perfect spot to show off giant marquis letters and neon signs from Nova Party Creations, and to get some great shots of our models showing off their 70’s dance moves.

Photographer Bobby Bandz found the perfect exit shot in this tunnel of trees outside the barrel room at Lagrange.
