To dispel the winter blues, we’d like to offer some soft summer blues instead, in the form of this sun and sand-filled shoot from Whimsy Fleur Styling. Inspired by a blue rhinestone gown, the shoot features a dusty blue and soft peach color palette, blue and white place settings, a 4-tiered cake adorned with oysters and pearls, and lots of breezy summer romance with a real-life couple.
I was visiting Mary’s Bridal Boutique in Annapolis, Maryland and I found this blue rhinestone gown from Mary’s couture line hanging on one of her racks and I instantly fell in love with the idea of creating a dusty blue styled shoot. So I decided to partner up with one of my sweet planner friends, Elise of Magnolia Events DMV to really help me bring this vision to life.

Blue rhinestones adorn this romantic dress from Mary’s Bridal Boutique.
This soft blue ombre, pearl and oyster covered cake was created by All in the Mix Cakeshop. Our favorite part – the dusty blue and lavender oyster on top, holding a pearl.
A farmhouse table and cross-back chairs from Something Vintage form a foundation for the delicate, romantic tablescape.
We chose to incorporate a soft peach in the centerpiece, to add a pop of color along with a hint of lavender, some greenery and pussy willows. I really wanted blue place settings, so Pretty Little Wedding Co provided her gorgeous china featuring dark blues and whites called the Kate. To really make our table stand out, we chose dusty blue goblets along with gold rimmed wine glasses. To complete our tablescape, we showcased brass candlesticks with dusty blue candles.

The cake table featured a soft blue ombre, pearl and oyster covered cake designed by All in the Mix Cakeshop. Gold votives on the table add to the romance.
