Under the Tuscan Sun

Inspired by the romance of Italy, this shoot from Sarah K Events, Carly Rose Photography, and Farfalla Photography presents a warm weather wedding vision that brings the beauty and charm of Europe to Virginia. The shoot is a collaboration of some of our favorite local vendors, and was hosted by Airlie, a local wedding venue reminiscent of an Italian villa. The shoot features lush gardens, romantic pastel florals, handwritten invites, two designer looks, a 4-tier cake, custom signage, a champagne tower, and a bold tablescape with special handmade details.

Upscale accessories such as handmade jewelry from Ti Adoro and lacy Dior slingbacks accessorized the bride’s two looks.

The bride’s first look was the dramatic Olive 2.0 gown from Barabara Kavchok, and was paired with a gray tux for the groom. The statement staircase at the Airlie was the perfect place to show off this high-fashion look.

Lauren of Line Art Calligraphy provided an invitation suite calligraphed in light blue ink. Handmade paper with deckled edges adds soft, organic texture, and evokes Old World charm.

The bride’s second look is the romantic Calypso gown, with pearl accents on the bodice. This look was paired with a classic black tux for the groom.

The Airlie’s lush gardens are perfect for an Italian-inspired wedding, and offer endless photo possibilities.

Custom cocktails included “Under the Tuscan Sun” and “Limoncello Spritz,” along with garnishes like blackberries and lavender. Lemons were used as a motif throughout the wedding design. Custom signage was created by Written in the Stars.

In keeping with our couple’s love for family and entertaining, we created a lavish tables cape to surprise and delight. For the centerpieces, we used a mixture of symmetry with the candles and candlesticks, and asymmetry with vases of differing height. This gives the table a modern and intentional look.

Simple flowers were chosen for the table, since the team had already made bold choices in the suspended flower cloud and blue table linens. Olive branch greenery throughout brings in texture and Italian romance.

A special touch to this wedding table is dried flowers hand-pressed onto tapered candles, bringing the flowers and candles together.

Glassware and floral place settings from Blooming Arrow Events add vintage charm to the table.

The floral cloud suspended over the table creates a delightful focal point.

For this Tuscan inspired shoot, I knew I wanted to focus in on the magic of Italy with the florals.

Olive greenery was combined with in-season peonies for a lush, Italian-inspired look. Garden roses, sunflowers, and ranunculus add pops of color.

An antique desk from Blooming Arrow Events makes a perfect cake table.

A classic, 4-tiered cake with gold detailing was provided by Tiers in Heaven. The second layer from the top is designed to look like draped linen edged in gold.
